To start, let’s look at an old case study that illustrates the importance of setting goals for success in any endeavor.

Researchers surveyed the graduating seniors of Yale in 1953 to determine how many had clear, written goals for their future. Only about 3% of the students had set goals.

Twenty years later, researchers followed up with the surviving members of the Class of 1953 and found that the 3% who had set goals had accumulated more personal wealth than the other 97% combined.
